A Student Midwife's Journal

Hi. I’m so glad you’re here!

Bump Equity was born at the intersection of advocacy and the sacred work of supporting birthing families. For years, I held space for families as a birth doula. More recently I’ve been pushing for systemic change in policy spaces. Not to long ago I realized I don’t just want to fight for a better system. I feel called to be part of it.

That’s where Bump Equity comes in.

Earlier this year, I chose to walk deeper into the work and began midwifery school. It’s a step that brings my work, my values, and my vision into deeper alignment. This season of my work is rooted in purpose and anchored in practice.

I’m still doing the full-time policy work that grounds me and keeps me connected to the structural changes we urgently need in maternal health. It’s a lot to carry, but it feels like exactly what I’m meant to hold.

This space is where I’ll share my journey through midwifery school as a student, a mother and a policy advocate. I’ll share my whys, my joys, my struggles and everything in-between. This isn’t a brand. It’s not a polished story. This is the messy middle. It’s just where I am.

If you’re here to follow along, ask questions, cheer from the sidelines, or just be in community – I’m truly glad you’re here. Because this work has never been about one path or one person – it’s about all of us.

More soon. I’m still finding my rhythm, one step at a time.
