In My Study Era

In My Study Era

Friday night woodfired pizza and…studying. That’s what my weekends look like these days. Most of my free time (and for the foreseeable future) is spent with my head in textbooks.

Shout out to my family for rolling with this season. I was in the middle of everything, laptop open, working through lessons while my husband handled dinner prep and my boys managed the cleanup. Other times it looks like me being completely closed off for hours, door shut, deep in reading. And in the future it will look like I’m away for clinicals.

This is what my study era looks like. Carefully blocking time off for reading after a full day of work, tuning into podcast during school drop off or commuting to a meeting, and blocking off time during the weekend to work through lessons. My family is actively holding space for me to make it work and it genuinely makes all the difference.

That’s not to say that there is not balance because I am all about ensuring that there is balance, that there is- space for relaxing, for friends and family, and for some “me time” alongside all the studying.

So this era – this study era – is where I’m at. It’s not forever, but it is right now. And I’m choosing to honor it for what it is an investment, a discipline, and a way of showing up for the work I am committed to do.
